Running 4 miles
Today I ran four miles on the Pinellas trail. I did not run fast, but steady. I went over three bridges up and back. It felt good to be out there again.
Around Christmas of 2009, I went to a Christmas production that my nephew, Ryan, was in. The pastor of the church, Dave Miller, came over and greeted me. He hadn't seen me since I was married in his church. He said, "Ron, I remember a young man who ran alot. Do you know where he is?" He just had this big grin on his face and it reminded me of the times when I was running marathons. It just inspired me for some reaon. Then he said, "Do you still run?"
That last question inspired me the most, because I knew I was not running. Whenever I would try to start running, I imagined the days when I was galloping down the beach of Maderia, and Clearwater area. I would get winded within five minutes running that fast. That one question brought me back to the times when I first started running. I ran so slow, but it was the distance that mattered.
Anyways, I ran slow an steady today and it felt good.
Cheers.
